Abstract: 

A new clock distribution network using CMOS single-photon avalanche diodes (SPAD) in combination with free space optics is proposed. The system can work without special implementation of Optical waveguides. It consists of an Optical source with 660 MHz operation, which in the receiver end is composed of three parallel SPADs biased in quench, hold-off and recharge phases. With the pipeline analogues implementation of SPADs and a logic cell output a 660 MHz clock source can be achieved. The proposed system is post layout simulated in 180nm CMOS technology. The power consumption of 6. 74 mW for each SPAD cell, electrical jitter of 237 fs and skew of 43 ps is resulted.

Abstract: 

Elastic Optical network has recently raised immense research efforts to serve as a highlyflexible and scalable platform required by the emerging on-demand cloud applications. Besides, virtual network embedding on top of elastic Optical network has been introduced as a promising solution to fine-grain sharing of node processing and Optical bandwidth resources. Owing to the diverse delay sensitivity requirements of heterogeneous cloud applications, an efficient double queue scheduler is presented, to deliver differentiated setup delay embedding in a fair manner. Extensive numerical simulations carried out over two prototype substrate networks, demonstrated that our proposed scheme can concomitantly enhance blocking and fairness performance of the single queue scheduler over wide range of offered traffic loads.

Abstract: 

In this paper, a simple and efficient clock boosting mechanism to increase the performance of an adaptive router in network-on-Chip (NoC) is proposed. One of the most serious disadvantages of a fully adaptive wormhole router is performance degradation due to the routing decision time. The key idea to overcome this shortcoming is the use of different clocks in a head flit and body flits. The simulation results show that the proposed clock boosting mechanism enhances the performance of the original adaptive router by increasing the accepted load and decreasing the average latency in the region of effective bandwidth. The enhanced throughput of a router results in power saving by reducing the operating frequency of a router for certain communication bandwidth requirements.

Abstract: 

Kherqeh-pushi (wearing the clock) is a customary ritual in Sufism. This ritual is usually accompanied with kherqeh-andakhtan (dedicating the clock) or takhriqe-kherqeh (tearing the clock) and kherqeh-az-sar-beh-dar-avrdan or kherqeh-az-sar-bar-kashidan (underssing the clock). Kherqeh-andakhtan (dedicating the clock) used to occur often in the state of ecstasy (vajd) and especially Serna. kherqeh-az-sar-beh-dar-avrdan (underssing the clock), besides that happens when two Sufis wish to do away with misunderstandings. Similarly, Kherqeh-az-sar-bar-kashidan (underssing the clock) was a way of punishing the culprit Sufi in Khangah. It seems that there is a connection between kherqeh-pushi (wearing the clock) and kherqeh-suzi (burning the clock), even though there was no citable and valid evidence about it in Sufi texts. Kherqeh-suzi (burning the clock) has a widespread use in mystical poems, as in the poems of Attar Neishapouri, Saadi, Mulavi, Qasem Anvar, Fakhredin Araqi and especially Hafez. By considering Kherqeh-pushi, the present article, tries to analyze the concept of kherqeh-suzi (burning the clock) in mystical texts, especially in the works of Attar and Hafez.
